What a Wonderful Christmas

(cough, cough) Excuse me, I am still coughing from all the dust that I just blew off my blog!

I am going to try and catch up in warp speed what all Janie has been doing. We went to Arizona for her birthday. Janie even got in 23 1/2 holes of golf. Santa is a very scary man to a 1-year old, but I will cherish that classic picture. And, two-months after Halloween, she is still the cutest little sunflower.

Janie is a walker now, getting around very quickly and discovering everything!!! She is in the 75th percentile for height and weight and doing great.

More Christmas pictures and stories to come...

My new favorite toy

Janie is becoming more and more mobile, with the help of her walker. Check her out cruising along. I think that she would do better if she could calm herself down. I swear she is going to hyperventilate some day over the shear excitement of life. Oh, to be young again!

Hello All - as always, we are a little behind on the blog. Janie is busy crawling all over the place and getting into things. She gets so mad when she accidently shuts herself into a room!

Vacation 2009

Jeff and I took a little Mommy/Daddy vacation a few weeks ago to Los Angeles, while Janie got spoiled by Grandma Mary and Grandpa Larry in Phoenix. Needless to say, we both had a great time. Jeff and I stayed really busy (Hollywood tour, Universal Studios, Sony Studios, WB Studios, Malibu, Santa Monica Pier/Venice Beach, Long Beach/Queen Mary and K-State vs. UCLA) and knew Janie was having a blast with the grandparents. She got in a little pool time, walks and even 9 holes of golf.

Check out a few pictures. You will see the Hollywood Hills, Kodak Theatre, KSU game (dang, we lost!), Wisteria Lane at Universal Studios and then one of Janie w/ the g-parents.

Go State!

After almost nine months of waiting, Janie got to experience her first K-State football game. She did a great job and hung for the whole thing. Best of all, she looked fantastic in her cheerleading outfit.

Almost Septmeber

Who can believe that it is almost September? The summer has flown by and boy have we had fun! Check out a few of Janie's latest photos. Janie thought she better share a little space with Daddy, who did great at his second triathlon on August 16 - way to go, Dad!

The blog is back!

I got a pep talk from my good friend Lauren and it is time to get back to the blog. So many things have happened in the little girl's life, and Daddy Jeff completed his first triathlon. For Mommy Jodi, it has been work, work, work. So with out further ado, here are pictures of Janie...

All I want for the 4th of July is my two front teeth!

Check out Janie's two front teeth (you will have to look beyond the green beans)! They are coming in without too much agony...for the most part she is a tropper.

What a fun weekend!

Jeff, Janie and I had a great weekend visiting our good friends, the Lamberts. Joe, Lauren and baby Ellen showed us a great time in Springfield. Ellen taught Janie lots of new things, as she experienced many firsts...

1. First baseball game (Springfield Cardinals)
2. First amusement park (Silver Dollar City)
3. First time to sit in a restaurant high chair
4. First time to take a bath in the big tub

It is amazing how similar Janie and Ellen are. I know that they will be good friends, once they learn to talk and everything!

She can sit! She can sit!

Janie got to spend the week of May 18 being 100% spoiled by Grandma Mary. They had so much fun going to the park, singing songs and taking naps together. I am sure the babysitter is still cursing her name after a week of giving Janie undivided attention, but that's what Grandmas are for, right?!

The big news is that Janie can now sit all by herself! She wanted to show off her new trick wearing a lovely tutu. Won't be long til she is up and dancing.

Let's see...what else? We also had a great time seeing the Delzeit clan and posed for a 4-generations picture. It is one that I will definitely treasure. Great Grandma D. even made Janie the cute little outfit. And of course Grandma Vickey and Grandpa Ken got their share of Janie, too, over the past couple of weeks.

Stay tuned for more Janie adventures!

Look at our little eater. Janie has mastered rice cereal and yellow vegetables. She can hardly wait for green beans and peas. But much like her Mommy, she didn't know when to say when. Her face says it all..."I'm stuffed!"

Busy, busy, busy

Greetings from the world's worst blogger. Over a month since out last posting and SOOO much has gone on in Janie's short life. She enjoyed her first Easter, has started eating solids (yum, rice cereal and carrots!, had her 4-month check-up (passed with flying colors), a second trip to the zoo and so much more. Here are a few pictures, with promises of better, more timely postings. :)

What a great weekend! Janie got to go to cousin Nora's 4th birthday party and boy was it fun. Janie got dressed up for the occasion, wearing a dress for the first time (we had to show off her shapely legs). More smiles and possibly even her first laugh made the weekend so much fun.

Confessions of a working mom

Hello Everyone - two weeks back on the job and I am starting to get back into the grove. It was definitely a challenge to leave Janie and to start thinking bank marketing again, but it is nice to be back at work. Janie has a great time during the day with her baby sitter Kris. Kris is the mother to my friend Amanda, who also works at INTRUST Bank. Amanda's 6-month son, Aeven, and Janie are becoming great friends. I get updates on the kiddos all day long so that really helps any separation anxiety I might have. Plus, I know she is in great hands.

Check out Janie's BEAUTIFUL smile. She has really been smiling for a couple of weeks and I finally caught one of them.

Wink! Wink!

Janie is 8 weeks today! She is smiling more and more at us. I haven't been able to catch one on camera yet, but she did give me a good wink the other day.

Janie is a road warrior! We went to Kansas City over the weekend and she did great on her first road trip. She met her Great Grandma D., Great Aunts Millie and Doris, Great Uncle Randy, Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Jason and cousins Jill, Nora, Reese and Landon. She also got lots of quality time with Grandma Vickey and Grandpa Ken. Unfortunately she slept through most of Reese and Landon's 2nd birthday party. Maybe she will catch more of the excitement next year.

One Month Old

Hello Everyone - Welcome to the Francis family blog. This will be the place to hear about and see what is going on in our lives, especially all the adventures of milestones of little Jane.

Janie is doing great! At her one month appointment she has grown to 21 inches (up from 20 1/4) and now weighs in at 8 lbs, 6 ozs (she was born at 7 lbs, 3 ozs). So far she has a clean bill of health. We keep busy during the day...it is amazing how quickly time goes by. Our days are spent, well, eating, sleeping and pooping. When we are not doing one of the above mentioned things, we spend the time rocking, talking to each other (ok, Mom and Dad do most of the talking), playing on her play mat, watching her mobile in amazement and getting in a little tummy time.

Janie has met so many wonderful people. She is lucky to be part of a great family and is so glad that Mommy and Daddy have such amazing friends . But really, we are the lucky ones to be blessed with such a beautiful little girl. She truly is the best gift ever!
